The pitch

One-line pitch

Rollover Tasks is a daily to‑do app for iPhone and iPad where unfinished tasks automatically roll over to the next day — gaining a counter and darkening in colour — so nothing gets quietly abandoned.

Short pitch (~50 words)

Rollover Tasks is a refreshingly simple daily to‑do app for iPhone and iPad. You add tasks, you tick them off, and anything unfinished carries itself into tomorrow's list — visually marked so you can see how long it's been hanging around. Built by a solo indie developer for people who like their tools uncomplicated.

Long pitch (~150 words)

Rollover Tasks takes a different approach to the to‑do list. Instead of giving you projects, folders, labels and priority flags to manage, it gives you one list: today. Anything you don't finish rolls over to tomorrow on its own — no re-typing, no rescheduling, no reminder notifications to dismiss. Each day a task persists it gains a small counter and darkens slightly in colour, so the tasks you keep putting off become visually louder without ever shouting. The app is designed for people who find traditional to‑do apps require too much organisation before they can actually get anything done — including users with ADHD, people who reschedule often, and anyone who wants the simplicity of a scrap of paper with a few modern conveniences bolted on. Rollover Tasks is free with optional Rollover Plus features (time scheduling, subtasks, custom labels, no ads) as a one-time purchase — no subscriptions.

Founder bio

Alex Ryan

Alex Ryan — also known online as GrumpyChap — is a solo independent developer based in the UK, using modern AI tooling to ship small, opinionated apps that solve his own problems.

Rollover Tasks grew out of frustration with existing to‑do apps demanding more organisation than the tasks themselves were worth. He's also the creator of AI LingoPlay, a language learning app that uses life-like AI characters for role-play practice.

Copy-friendly bio (50 words): "Alex Ryan is a UK-based solo indie app developer who trades as GrumpyChap. He created Rollover Tasks out of a desire for a to‑do app that didn't need to be organised before it could be used. He's also the creator of AI LingoPlay, a role-play-based language learning app."
